Salt Spring Centre of Yoga

The Salt Spring Centre of Yoga is a non-profit educational and spiritual retreat centre dedicated to teaching the core principles of yoga. Our working relationship spanned over 10 years, from 2009-2022. What began as a began as a one-month volunteer stay turned into 8 month residential employment.

This extended period of time and immersive experience gave me a first-hand vantage point from which to help them tell their story through their marketing and promotions. Once I moved on from the community, I continued to produce their monthly e-newsletter, as well as various graphic design projects as needed.

“It has been my great pleasure to have the opportunity to work with Keiko over the past several years. She is a joy to work with. Apart from her strong artistic skills, what makes her such a pleasure  to work with is her understanding of our needs and willingness to meet them. She is a creative, wise, respectful  and caring human being who is also completely reliable, meeting every deadline. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

A holistic approach

Work that was completed while at the Centre began by auditing the Centre’s existing visual presence on the property, in the community and online. From there I refined their existing brand and expanded it to be warm, inviting and – most satisfyingly – cohesive. I then designed a full collection of posters, signs, guest binders, brochures, booklets, email newsletter and more, which were all rolled out to my great satisfaction and pride.

The work I did for the Centre exemplifies the way I like to work today – addressing my client’s communication challenges holistically to produce results with clarity, simplicity and beauty.
