Oxygen Art Centre

Hungry Mist exhibition, title design - Opening Night

I have been producing exhibition catalogues and other design materials for Oxygen Art Centre and its artists since 2019. Our design process has benefited from our years of collaboration, and now runs like clockwork. As a designer, it’s always a dream to work with highly organized and enthusiastic collaborators like those on the Oxygen team!

“Keiko is an excellent communicator and professional creative who has provided our organization with invaluable design services to capture and share contemporary art programming and arts writing with a wide audience. Keiko's kindness of spirit is matched by her keen design skills –we simply love working with her!”

– Julia Prudhomme, Executive Director, Oxygen Art Centre

Palūs Catalogue

I worked closely with artists Ana Daedalus and Kerry Davis and Oxygen to create this catalogue that documents their beautiful project, Palūs. The work was created during a month-long remote residency during which the artists produced photographic works exploring the Sitka swamplands of the Grays River. Learn more about this project on the project blog and have a flip through the catalogue below.

Overburden Exhibition

Overburden: Geology, Excavation and Metamorphosis in a Chaotic Age was organized by artist and curator Genevieve Robertson on behalf of Oxygen Art Centre and Kootenay Gallery of Art curator Maggie Shirley. Overburden brings together a group of artists whose shared concerns address geology and its relationship to shifting climate patterns and resource extraction, in both regional and global contexts. View the catalogue online.

“Keiko works quickly, thoroughly and professionally. Her sense of aesthetic is creative and refined. I would highly recommend her for your design needs.”

– Maggie Shirley, curator and writer

Exhibition Catalogue Collection

I always enjoy slipping into the world of an art exhibition through the design of printed catalogues. The time spent immersed in the text and imagery of an exhibition keep me connected to my fine arts background, and the creative arts community in my town.
